Where can I stay overnight with a motorhome in Norway?

The Norwegian right to roam (allemannsretten) does not cover driving motor vehicles, but there are some useful rules to know:
- You may park along public roads where it isn't prohibited by signs, as long as you don't obstruct traffic.
- You may not drive off-road or camp with a motorhome in the countryside.
- Keep at least 150 metres from inhabited houses and cabins, and don't stay more than two nights in the same place.
- On private land you need the landowner's permission, unless it's a campsite, motorhome parking area or rest area.
If in doubt, ask the local municipality or choose a campsite or motorhome site.
